Copper Cottage sits just over a mile from Portreath, a peaceful seaside retreat boasting a secluded sandy beach and a picturesque harbour. The beach finds itself at the heart of the Cornwall surf and bodyboard culture, home to surf shops with equipment to rent, as well as offering lessons for any brave enough to ride the waves. The Atlantic Beach cafe is well-known for its excellent food and atmosphere. The village also offers a renowned bakery, several pubs and a village store. Portreath also has three pubs - one of which overlooks the harbour and a smaller, sandy beach. On the north side of the beach the harbour wall provides shelter and warmth for a fine tidal swimming pool. Set amidst rocks and rockpools here children can also spend happy hours exploring marine life. The wild and rugged beauty of the local cliffs provides another dimension for those on holiday. Here you can walk and find solitude away from crowded beaches. Buzzards circle, ravens soar and kittiwakes nest in their hundreds above blue seas where Atlantic seals sport in secluded coves. The dramatic North cliffs, with distant views to Godrevy Lighthouse and St Ives are particularly attractive. Tehidy Country Park is located just outside the village, comprising of 250 acres of beautiful woodlands, lakes and miles of cycle paths together with a café and picnic area; while the adjoining golf course and two links courses nearby provide golfers with plenty of opportunities to test their swing. Also nearby is the Cornish Goldsmith Centre, making and selling handcrafted jewellery where visitors can even pan for gold - well worth a visit! Step inside Copper Cottage and you will be greeted with a homely sitting room with exposed beams and a cosy wood burning stove. The well equipped kitchen with dining area has everything you need for your self catering holiday. Opt to eat in, step outside and dine alfresco in the enclosed gardens or pop across the road to the friendly local pub for a meal and try out one of the locally brewed beers. Upstairs is the comfortable master double bedroom with pretty linens and little bunk bedroom. A ground floor spic and span bathroom completes the inside space.
